Identity and Mechanism
Hexarelin is a synthetic growth hormone-releasing hexapeptide that signals through the growth hormone secretagogue receptor.
Human Evidence
A double-blind rising-dose study in 12 healthy male volunteers found a dose-related acute GH response. Other small studies tested different routes or populations. These experiments establish endocrine activity, not long-term clinical benefit.
Other Endocrine Signals
Human research reported effects on prolactin and the ACTH-cortisol axis. Findings vary by age and hypothalamic-pituitary integrity.
Safety Limits
Small, short experiments cannot characterize rare adverse events, chronic metabolic effects, cardiovascular outcomes or long-term consequences. Hexarelin is not FDA approved.
Sport Status
WADA prohibits growth hormone-releasing peptides. Athletes should verify the current list and applicable rules.
